HP's Planet Partners Program has come to Colorado State University

Cartridges diverted from the landfill
Hewlett Packard, Procurement and Contracting Services, Central Receiving and ASCSU Environmental Affairs have teamed up to bring the Planet Partners Program to campus. The Planet Partners Program is an easy and environmentally-friendly way to recycle your HP OEM (original equipment manufacturer) cartridges on campus.
The program covers only newly manufactured HP cartridges, however, PCS is working to procure a vendor to handle remanufactured cartridges.
Free HP Energy Star compliant printers
In addition to ensuring that cartridges do not end up the landfill, Colorado State University has the potential to receive over $50,000 worth of free Energy Star compliant printers and similar equipment per year. The printers and similar equipment will be available to all campus departments on a first come, first served application process, based on need to replace older, non-Energy Star compliant printers. For application and program specifics, please visit http://www.purchasing.colostate.edu/pages/planet_partners.asp.
How do I dispose of my HP OEM cartridges?
There are two easy ways to dispose of your HP OEM cartridges.
(1) Put your used HP OEM cartridge into an envelope or in the box your new cartridge came in, then drop it in your departmental mail bin. Central Receiving will then pick them up with your daily mail run; or
(2) Drop your HP OEM cartridges into bins strategically located in the Lory Student Center, Morgan Library and the Residence Halls. ASCSU volunteers and Central Receiving will periodically empty the bins for return to HP.

Please help us keep energy costs down, conserve landfill space and provide up-to-date equipment to your CSU campus by participating in this program. Thanks!
