U.S. Senators, Gov. Ritter to help tout CSU clean energy on Thursday

Clean and renewable energy showcase

Colorado State University faculty, staff and students are welcome to join CSU President Larry Penley at the state Capitol for a major announcement about taking new clean energy research to the marketplace.

U.S. Senators Ken Salazar and Wayne Allard and Gov. Bill Ritter will join Penley at 10 a.m. Thursday at the state Capitol to showcase some of CSU's principal clean and renewable energy products and discoveries.

Grow Colorado's new energy economy

The showcase is part of a major announcement about an innovative model to help move research and discoveries more quickly into the marketplace, helping the state achieve its goals to address global climate change and grow Colorado's new energy economy.

The initiative will help create jobs for Colorado as well as help solve some of the world's most challenging environmental problems. CSU will also tout its progress in offering courses geared to train the new "green collar" worker for Colorado.

State Capitol - March 20, 10-11:30 a.m.

The event begins at 10 a.m. in the West Foyer of the state Capitol. Professors and students will showcase clean energy products and startups in the areas of biofuels, solar, clean-burning cookstoves and engines and energy efficiency until 11:30 a.m.
